These cookies are a fan favorite in our house. The use of brown and white sugar makes these cookies soft and chewy. Loaded with cholate chips these cookies are perfect for any event you want to bring something to or for just a sweet treat at home.
Recipe
- 1c Butter (better if you brown it)
- 1c White Sugar
- 1c. Brown Sugar
- 1 egg
- 3c Flour
- 1tsp. Vanilla
- 2tsp Baking Powder
- Chocolate Chips, measured with your heart
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees
- Cream together butter and sugar
- Add egg and vanilla and mix well
- Add in flour and baking powder. Mix until combined
- Mix in chocolate chips
- Scoop 2 inch dough balls onto parchment paper lined cookie sheets
- Bake in 350 degree oven for 15 minutes
- Cool on wire rack

Your dough should by nice and moist! If it isn’t, you might have added too much flour or your butter might not have been soft enough. Try adding a little bit of water or milk into the dough to help make it easier to roll
Chocolate chip cookies are always a fan favorite so you really can’t go wrong with these. If you are looking to elevate these cookies a bit, try browning the butter beforehand. This adds a little nutty flavor and makes them a bit more fancy. If you choose to brown the butter, your dough may bee a little bit drier, so try lessening the amount of flour that you use
You can also change these up by adding crushed up walnuts and white chocolate chips instead for another yummy variation.
I like a BIG cookie, like colossal, but if that’s not your style or if you’re looking for quantity over size, you can also scoop these into the standard 1 inch balls to get another couple of cookies worth out of the mix.
